Kids Life exists to partner with families as they raise their children in the knowledge of the Lord. We see parents as the primary spiritual caregivers, and want to partner with you as you teach and train your children. To that end, we offer classes for children birth through 5th grade (though they are welcome with you in the main gathering) on Sunday mornings.
Our children are a vital part of the church. They are not an inconvenience to be “watched” while we do church; they are the church, a precious responsibility and privilege, the future of the church, the city and the world.
We are committed to supporting families in raising their children. We believe this is best done in community by exposing children to diverse relationships of all ages, which happens primarily through City Groups. In addition, we equip parents to raise their kids through gospel-centered teaching and training, as well as by developing teachers to provide great, age-focused Kids Life ministry during our Sunday gatherings.
YOUTH LIFE
Youth Life exists to partner with families as they raise their teen and pre-teen students in the knowledge of the Lord. We see parents as the primary spiritual caregivers, and also recognize adolescence as a wonderful time for youth to grow in their wisdom and understanding of the Word by being in relationships with peers and other Christian adults.
Youth Life meets on the first and third Sundays of the month. Two adult leaders facilitate discussion among the students, utilizing the curriculum “Walking with the Wise,” published by New Growth Press. We are introducing our students to the wisdom of Proverbs as they discuss receiving Godly correction, pursuing wisdom, and knowing Jesus as our only true source of hope and wisdom.
Additionally, our students gather regularly for social events and service activities within the Austin community, and we encourage each of our youth to find a way to minister at City Life Church.
FOR PARENTS
We use The Gospel Project for Kids curriculum. We love that this is a gospel-centered curriculum that is fun for your children and theologically-sound. Regardless if you have a two year old or a 4th grader, your child will have the same bible story with an age-appropriate lesson. Your child will come home with a coloring page and an activity page each Sunday that will tell you what bible lesson they learned, what scripture (or key passage) they are memorizing, and provides some family discussion starters.

VOLUNTEER
Thank you for your interest in volunteering in KIDS LIFE!
We ask our volunteers to serve once a month. When you fill out your application, you can note which class(es) you prefer: babies, toddlers, preschool, pre-k/kindergarten or elementary.
Our babies class is unstructured care & play time for our littlest ones who are usually under age one and not yet walking. Our toddlers class (walkers – 2.5 years) is mostly unstructured playtime, with a snack & craft time. In Preschool (2.5 – 4 years old) and Pre-K/Kindergarten, our kiddos participate in a Bible lesson, a snack and play a bible memory verse game. There is also time for free play with toys. Our Elementary Students (1st – 5th graders) begin the morning in the Main Gathering with the adults that brought them to church. They are dismissed to meet their teachers after the first few songs, and then head upstairs for their lessons. Our curriculum is from the Gospel Story Bible by Marty Machowski.
We ask all volunteers to arrive no later than 9:30 a.m. to meet in the Kids Life Hallway with their Coordinator to pray, review policies & receive teaching materials. All teaching materials and resources are provided for the volunteers. We do request our Preschool through Elementary teachers to review the lesson plans and spend time preparing to teach God’s Word to the kids before they arrive on Sunday mornings.
