The Glory of Prayer Matt. 6:1-13

By City Life Church

Call to Worship

There is none like you, O Lord,
nor are there any works like yours.
You invite our prayers and welcome our praise,
Listen to our longings and change our ways.
We gather to you, to thank you for your grace
We consider you, to contemplate your ways
We sing to you, O King of grace!

Confession and Assurance

Most merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against You
in thought, word, and deed,
by practicing righteousness before men
and by assuming righteousness before ourselves.
We have not loved you with our whole heart;
we have not loved our city as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
Because of your Son Jesus Christ,
have mercy on us, and forgive us, O Lord;
that we may see your face, and walk in your ways,
that your kingdom come, and your will be done,
in Austin as it is in heaven,
through Christ our Lord, Amen.

While it is true that we have sinned,
it is a greater truth that we are forgiven
through God’s mighty grace in Christ Jesus.
To all who humbly seek the mercy of God I say,
in Jesus Christ your sin is forgiven!

Thanks be to God!

Pursue your Father in secret
Seek his kingdom in public
And rejoice in his amazing grace
Til Christ is all, Amen.
