Keep Loving 1 Peter 4:7-11

By John Seago

Bless the Lord at all times;
Let his praise be continually on our lips.
Taste and see that the Lord is good!
Make your goodness appealing to us, O Christ.
Come, magnify the Lord.
Let us exalt his name together!

Most merciful God,
we confess that we have sinned against thee
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done,
and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent.
Because of your Son Jesus Christ,
have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in your will,
and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your name.

While it is true that we have sinned,
it is a greater truth that we are forgiven,
through God’s mighty grace in Christ Jesus.
To all who humbly seek the mercy of God I say,
in Jesus Christ your sin is forgiven!

Thanks be to God!

Above all, keep loving one another earnestly.
Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.
As each has received a gift,
use it to serve one another in the strength that God supplies—
so that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.
To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
