CALL TO WORSHIP
The Advent wreath contains four candles representing:
love, peace, hope, and joy. All four are fulfilled in Christ.
Today, we celebrate hope.
With the child Jesus in his arms, Simeon said to God:
“For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations:
a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.”
Prepare, then, the way of the Lord.
Joseph and Mary marveled at what was said about their baby, Jesus.
We too marvel at Christ, who was pierced for our sins and raised for our salvation.
We welcome this Grand Miracle, God in the flesh, the hope of the world.
Blessed are all who hope in him.
Prepare the way of the Lord.
We light this candle in hope, hope of our Savior who has come and will come again.
BENEDICTION
Heavenly Father, you pour out hope in a spirit of grace.
Spirit of God, you give us new hearts for greater hope.
Lord Christ, you were pierced for hope fulfilled—
Forgiven! Cleansed! Rewritten and redeemed…like you!
Go, in the confidence that God has opened a fountain for you
and for the renewal of all things!
