While we may be distracted by questions about who to vote for and which party is “Christiany enough,” the Bible has a more dynamic, challenging, and comforting vision for human government. In contrast to what we see in our current public discourse, Romans 13 has a richer, yet more humble, model for politics. It’s a radical idea that our voting and political engagement could strengthen our faith, spread the gospel of Christ, and bring glory to God, but that’s the truth we find in our passage this week.
