Divorce and Marriage Matt. 5:31-32; 19:3-9

By Austin Becton

Call to Worship

Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path.
I have sworn an oath and confirmed it,
to keep your righteous rules.
I am severely afflicted;
give me life, O Lord, according to your word!
Accept my freewill offerings of praise, O Lord,
and teach me your rules.

-Psalm 119:105-108

Confession and Assurance

All:
Merciful God,
We confess that we have sinned against you
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done,
and by what we have refused to do.
We have not loved you or admired you above all. In your abundant mercy forgive us O Lord. Soften our hard hearts and renew us,
that we may see your face, delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your name. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.

Reader:
While it is true that we have sinned,
it is a greater truth that we are forgiven
through God’s mighty love in Christ Jesus.
To all who humbly seek the mercy of God I say, in Jesus Christ your sin is forgiven!

All:
Thanks be to God!

Benediction

To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to
present you before his glorious presence without fault
and with great joy—
to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and
authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages,
now and forevermore! Amen.

-Jude 24-25
