Jonah Starts Sept 10

At first glance, Jonah seems like a silly tale of fish-swallows-man-overboard-and-survives. But a closer examination of the story reveals deep insight into the character of God and the predicaments we all find ourselves in.

Jonah avoids the presence of God, struggles with compassion for his pagan neighbors, endures great adversity, struggles with heartfelt obedience, and yet God never abandons him.

Instead, we discover God’s love for pagan cities, his concern for all people, the staggering nature of mercy, wisdom in how to suffer, and a robust promise of victory over sin, death and the hope of redemption. Perhaps surprisingly, Jonah provides a narrative blueprint for modern discipleship.

Join us Sunday, September 10 as we begin this story.
