Volunteer Opportunities To Help Those Affected By The Wildfires

More volunteers are needed to respond to those affected by the wildfires in the Austin area.

 

The Austin Disaster Relief Network will be establishing three warehouses across Greater Austin (360/Bee Caves area, Georgetown and potentially William Cannon/Slaughter). In order to run these effectively, ADRN will need Warehouse Mangers to help us run these three sites along with warehouse volunteers to receive and hand out much needed goods. 

 

If you are interested in volunteering at one of our warehouses, please click here to sign up for a time slot.  If you are interested in managing/leading one of these warehouses, please email me at daniel@adrntx.org.  

The Red Cross has also asked ADRN to provide shelter workers for the following Shelters: Bastrop Middle School (1 shelter worker), Old Giddings Elementary School (1 shelter mgr), 1st United Methodist Church in Lockhardt (1 shelter worker), Rouse High School in Leander (1 shelter worker/1 shelter mgr). The shift for all sites will be Wednesday, 7AM-7PM.  If you are able to volunteer, please email Michelle Parke tonight by 11PM michelle@adrntx.org.  Training will be given onsite if you have not received Red Cross shelter training.

ADRN is also looking for Call Center Volunteers.  Today, we have had over 500-750 calls taken within the ADRN Call Center.  We need call center volunteers for at least the next three days from 8AM-10PM (shifts will be posted on registration).  To sign up, please click here.

Many of you have asked how you can respond and help those affected by the fires in the Austin area. As we collect information on how we can help long-term, here are a few ways you can help respond right away.

Needs:
Diapers
Baby Food
Adult Food (non-perishable)
Water
Dog Kennels
Underwear & socks
Blankets, cots, pillows
Trash cans, trash bags

Dog food, cat food

We are working with the Austin Disaster Relief Network to help those affected by the fires. If you are willing to help please look at the list of questions below and respond to Nate Navarro ASAP. We will then let ADRN know and go from there.

Would you be able to provide food, clothes, water, or transportation for the immediate needs of families affected by this fire? 

Would you be able to assist with long-term needs such as housing, furnishings, etc?

Would you be willing to volunteer to help with cleanup, clothes sorting/distribution, food collection/distribution, etc?

 Would you be able to help house volunteers coming in to help from other areas? If so, how many?
